How can you help?
You can make a difference.
Kids’ lives can change with a little infusion of kindness and confidence, but we need help to make it happen.
Dressed for School relies on the generosity of our community to provide clothes for children free of charge.
Below are ways in which you can help contribute to serving kids in our community.
Your donation allows us to buy clothes and shoes that kids feel good wearing. There is always need, so every dollar helps!
On average a child's wardrobe costs $125. That includes: 5 tops, 4 bottoms, 5 underwear, 5 pairs of socks, 1 bra (girls), and a pair of gym shoes.
Won't you join us in helping to change the lives of children in our community?
We always need clothes. We add to our inventory monthly to ensure every child leaves the store with a complete wardrobe.
A clothing drive is a great way for organizations to get their members involved by donating certain items of clothing and/or money to help fulfill our inventory needs.
Please reach out if your organization is interested in hosting a clothing drive.
Donating your Kohls Cash is a great way to help out Dressed for School!
All you have to do is send us a picture (front and back) of your Kohls Cash and we can use it to buy clothing for our store!
"We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It's easy to say, it's not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem, then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes." ~ Fred Rogers
We're always looking for dedicated volunteers to help around the store or to shop with students.
Dressed for School is a great way to give back to the Porter County community.
Because we are associated with area schools there are certain documents we must have on file for all volunteers.
Please download documents below and include them with your volunteer application. Thank you.
We are thankful to all the individuals and community members who support our mission.
